Student Life
You’ll never get bored living at RMC! This is Uni life at its best – surrounded by friends and supported by a great staff, you can devote all your energy to your studies and your friends. With literally dozens of events organised every year, here are just some of the activities you can look forward to in a typical year at RMC:
- Orientation Week
- Annual ball
- Harbour cruises
- International dinners
- Formal dinners
- College parties
- Postgraduate outings
- Inter-block sport
- Inter-college sport (more than ten sports)
- Inter-college social events
- Talent quest
- Art competition
- Paintball or laser tag
Another reason why RMC is such a great place to live is because we have a no-alcohol on-site policy. This means that you go off site to places like the Uni Bar or into the city to drink, or head out to one of the many social events run by the Student Executive, but when you come back in to RMC, you’re in an environment that is better suited for study and positive community life.
Student Association
All residential members of the College are members of the RMC Student Association. The constitutional purpose of the Student Association is “to provide social and sporting activities for the residents of Robert Menzies College.”
Towards the end of each year, members vote to elect a Student Executive for the following year, which is responsible for the Student Association’s budget and all its activities. The Student Executive organises and promotes sports, social and community service events, meetings, and various other activities throughout their term in office.
The Student Executive is a voluntary body, and the College aims to support it wherever possible in its service to the members of RMC. As a member, you are free to share your ideas, points of view or concerns with the Executive so that your time in College is as rewarding as possible.
