International Students
Whether you are here for a study abroad/exchange program or for your entire degree, we highly value and support our international students, and the contributions they bring to the RMC community!
Study Abroad and Exchange Students
Live close to campus, live among Australians and other international students, explore and experience Sydney with your new friends, and gain an experience of a lifetime while studying at Macquarie University – live at RMC on your Study Abroad program!
We are happy to offer one-semester contracts for Study Abroad and exchange students, making it easy to embrace the friendships, fun, and experiences that come with college life.
Get to know a global community!
In a large multi-cultural city such as Sydney and at a large university such as Macquarie, RMC’s community provides a diverse community from all around the world. You will share meals with your friends everyday, providing ample opportunity to form lifelong friendships.
In the holidays, you’ve got the opportunity to travel around Australia and visit some of your new Aussie friends in their hometowns! Most of our Australian residents come from rural areas, so they can show you the Australia that many tourists often miss out.
Flexibility when you need it!
RMC gives study abroad and exchange students the option to pack up their rooms in the long summer and winter breaks between semesters (Dec-Jan and July) so that they are not charged for their rooms over this period. This means they can use the money they would spend on rent to explore the rest of Australia or visit their Aussie friends. Alternatively, you can pay a daily rate to extend your stay past the end of semester.
International Student Experience
Living away from home for the first time can be a challenge for any young person. For international students studying at Macquarie University, it is often combined with your first experience of living in a different country, with an unfamiliar culture. At Robert Menzies College we care, value and help add to an international student’s experience as you live and study at University.
Staying at RMC has been fantastic! Having well-planned meals makes living away from home easier. College events keep life interesting each week, giving me many opportunities to meet new people and learn about their lives and cultures.

I love the community. We eat together in the Dining Hall, we get to hang out, and there are so many events. It's a great place to live as a student - a stepping stone from moving out of home. You have support from staff who live on site and support from the university just next door.
